New CODAR Twin-transmit Setup Extends Range
Release Date: 17 April 2009

CODAR's new twin-transmit design extends the range of the SeaSonde, potentially beyond 300 km with a Long-range SeaSonde. The new design option includes a second transmit antenna, which refocuses previously unused radiated power in desired seaward directions, without increasing the power output of the transmitter itself. The user can also fine tune the directionality of the power over targeted areas by adjusting the distance between the two antennas. Additional details are available in the Spring 2009 issue of the CODAR newsletter. Click here to view a copy online, or if you reside in Canada, contact OEA to receive a hardcopy by post.
