New York Times Finds Order in Currents

The Science section of the 28 September 2009 edition of The New York Times profiles the use of HF radar in coastal waters of the USA. The article, entitled "Finding Order in the Apparent Chaos of Currents", provides an excellent summary of cutting edge applications that are emeging within the USA, such as coastal search and rescue operations. Presently, there are 143 such radars located along the coasts of the USA, of which 129 (i.e. 90%) are CODAR SeaSondes. In Canada, there are nine systems, seven of them CODAR SeaSondes.
