Marine environmental monitoring involves sensors mounted on five types of platforms: Earth observing satellites, aircraft, surface vessels, in situ and shore-based installations. OEA Technologies consults on all of these, such as ocean observing satellite sensors, but limits its sensor sales to CODAR HF radars and Pro-Oceanus in situ gas sensors – the foremost sensors in their fields.
• Located entirely onshore, CODAR SeaSonde HF radars measure synoptic surface currents and important wave parameters, such as significant wave height.
• Pro-Oceanus gas sensors are deployed from vessels and mounted on moorings, gliders, offshore platforms and drifters. They measure dissolved carbon dioxide, atmospheric carbon dioxide, dissolved methane and dominant dissolved gases (oxygen + nitrogen).
